Computer Assistance

Do you need professional assistance with your computer?

If you have ever suffered a significant loss due to a computer failure, this is easy to answer. If not, read on.

Where do you begin?

Here are some questions you might want to ask yourself.

1. What level of computer expertise does the business really possess?

Many employees are competent with Word, OutLook, etc. But most don’t possess the skill to troubleshoot, for example, why a computer started running slow.

2. How complex are my computers?

Do they only share internet access, or is it a little more complex – does the business save all files on one computer and the rest of the computers access the files on that computer?

3. How essential are my computers to the business’s success?

Try this little test. Turn your computer off for an hour and keep track on how many tasks you can’t do. Just like when the power is out, you still walk into a room and turn on the light switch. Sometimes you just don’t realize the importance of your computers because you take them for granted.

4. Am I a workaholic?

If you don’t mind working 10 hours a day running the business and another 1-2 hours a day doing computer maintenance or troubleshooting a problem, then only call for computer service when you just can’t fix the problem. If you prefer to have a life, then pay someone with the expertise to do the same task in a lot less time.
